Dawnland Voices

On August 14, the opening reception of Maine Historical Society's exhibition exploring the history of Wabanaki basketmaking welcomed contributors to Dawnland Voices: An Anthology of Indigenous Writing from New England to share their work. Readers include Carol Bachofner (Abenaki), Marie Francis (Passamaquoddy), Mihku Paul-Anderson (Maliseet), Cheryl Savageau (Abenaki), Donald Soctomah (Passamaquoddy), Melissa Tantaquidgeon Zobel (Mohegan). Prior to the opening, Little Thunder Films interviewed the writers in the Longfellow Garden for a forthcoming documentary.
