Annual Portland Homeless Persons' Vigil

On December 21 – the longest night of the year – Preble Street, Mercy Hospital, Maine Medical Center and the City of Portland organized a time to remember homeless individuals who have died recommit Maine to the task of ending homelessness. A candlelight procession began at the Preble Street Resource Center and proceeded to Monument Square for a ceremony featuring speeches, dedications, candle-lighting and song.
